تعود كريستيز Christie’s إلى دبي الشهر القادم مع برنامج رائع يضم مزاداً للفن الحديث والمعاصر في المنطقة يقام في جميرا أبراج الإمارات خلال التاسع عشر والعشرين من مارس. سيتمكن العامّة أيضاً من مشاهدة المعرض من السادس عشر إلى التاسع عشر من مارس خلال مهرجان آرت دبي 2014

يذكر أن ما يدعى مزاد الفن الحديث والمعاصر العربي والإيراني والتركي تم تأسيسه عام 2011، وسيتضمن هذه السنة أعمالاً بارزة من مجموعة فاروس الفنية ومن مجموعة معاذ الآلوسي، وسيشتمل على أعمال عدد من الفنانين المشهورين عالمياً مثل النحّات الإيراني برويز تنافولي والرسام المصري محمود سعيد والرسام السوري فاتح المدرّس وفنان “ايدج أوف أرابيا” السعودي عبد الناصر غارم والفنانة التشكيلية الإيرانية شيرين نشأت وغيرهم

وتتميّز هذه النسخة من المزاد بمشاركة الفنان علي عمر أرميص الذي سيتبرع بجزءٍ من عائدات بيعه للقصيدة السادسة، أحد لوحاته المستلهمة من المعلقات السبع، إلى المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين UNHCR

وإلى جانب المعارض والمزادات التي سبق ذكرها، سوف تقوم كريستيز بعرض المزيد من الأعمال العربية المعاصرة للبيع في أوكتوبر خلال مزادها السنوي على الانترنت. وفي الختام، ستقوم دار المزادات أيضاً باستضافة مزاد “الساعات المهمة” في نفس المكان في العشرين من مارس الساعة السابعة مساءً

Tributes paid to leading Arab artist, Ali Omar Ermes

Renowned British Libyan artist and calligrapher Ali Omar Ermes has died aged 76. Born in 1945, in the Libyan city of Zliten, Ermes studied at the University of Plymouth in the UK. He returned to Libya after graduating in 1970, but later moved to London, where he completed a master’s degree at what later became Central Saint Martins.

Ali Omar Ermes’ Recent Works to Be Exhibited at Meem Gallery - 10 DECEMBER 2010 - 27 JANUARY 2011

Meem Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition of the recent work of Ali Omar Ermes this December. Ali Omar, who is internationally renowned for his beautiful paintings based on Arabic literature and letterforms, exhibited his work at Meem in 2007 and we are delighted to present his second solo show at the gallery this winter. The artist will be in attendance during the opening.
